What is the difference between Home Health and Home Care?

Home Care

Home Care is needed when a person is no longer able to keep up with household chores such as shopping, meal preparation, paying bills or transporting themselves without assistance.  In-home caregivers can provide help with a wide range of a person’s needs, from mobility related activities of daily living to regular companionship.

Home Health

Home Health services are needed when a person is in need of rehabilitation, physical therapy, recovery or other clinical healthcare services.  The client may also require wound care, receive medications, and the need to be monitored during recovery while remaining at home.

Benefit

A client often benefits from utilizing both types of services, clinical and non-clinical, which brings added support to the family.  However, this is solely dependent upon the services your insurance will cover.
